That rating is more on me than it is the book. I read this in the space of just over a month and because of the timeline jumps I kept forgetting what was going on and the timeline of it all happening.

However, if you’re looking for a book full of ups, downs, hope and everything in between, this is the book for you. I could see a lot of myself in the main character Abbie.

As well, I could imagine Mumbles as it was talked about after being there when my boyfriend was at Swansea university and I really liked that. And the second trip to Paris makes me really want to revisit as an adult after going in my early teens.

If I was to read this story again and in a short time span, I’m sure it was be a solid 4 or 5 star rating.

This book is like a daydream... cosy, sweet, emotional and incredibly romantic! It talks about passion and love at first sight; about friendship and family; about life choices and different paths. I loved all the characters, they were well developed and easy to relate.
I read this book while going through a hard emotional time, and it was my escape from reality, my feel good time...
Well written, easy to read, kept me engaged. I could genuinely feel all the emotions of the characters.
I was kind of rooting for Charlie but ... it must be love

 Headlines:
Flat characters
So many missed opportunities
Convenience

This was a bookclub read and it's fair to say we all had a similar experience and feeling reading this which is interesting considering the high ratings for this book. Here's my feelings and experiences and most will be under a spoiler tag. There were too many convenient happenings, most of the characters were unlikeable to me and felt one-dimensional.

To be truthful, the writing was on the wall when Charlie's story of being jilted came up early, I was like oh no, she's gonna jilt him at some point. I could buy into Oz and Abbie for a few pages but even their first meeting was over-concidental. Fourteen years on and that did not get any better. What killed this book completely were those ending chapters. The shooting, the abelist outcome of that event and the pregnancy. I was done.

This is a romance novel with something very special.
The fact that Abbie and Oz had only spent a total of 14 days together, but they loved each other with such force that they were brought together by divine intervention many times, is just absolutely stunning and lovely. They are the true definition of soulmates, and that even though life might take you away from each other, you will forever be linked.

I absolutely loved Oz’ character and the incorporation of his nationality, I really enjoyed being taken to many different places across the world, including Istanbul, and I really felt like I was there watching them! Liz (Abbie’s best friend) was also a brilliantly funny and great friend to Abbie, and she also added a level of reality into the novel with the reality of post-partum depression.

There are some real heart-breaking moments throughout, and I was very close to tears a lot of the time. I also found myself getting so frustrated as I desperately wanted Abbie and Oz to be together, but literally everything kept getting in the way!

The ending was lovely, and I was very pleased with it.

I honestly couldn’t fault this novel at all, so romantic and sweet and just plain lovely.
