I'm a big fan of Will Dean and I enjoyed this, for the most part, a great deal. I found myself very quickly gripped by it, drawn into the story of a young woman basically investigating the death of her sister.  The protagonist was an unusual and interesting character. The novel took an unexpected turn at a certain point, which completely blindsided me - but it worked for me, genuinely surprised me in a good way.

I was loving the book - until the ending. The ending didn't really make sense to me. I trusted that it made sense to Will Dean, but I didn't feel as connected to it making sense as I wanted to feel. There was one sentence in particular that I reread several times but I just couldn't understand how it fitted with events that had happened earlier in the novel. So this final twist was one twist too many for me, but I still enjoyed the book overall.

This book started out slow but once you got to pages 125 and so on it started getting good. There were so many twist and turns. I want to re read to see if I could see any clues

I love books about twins, it's one of my favorite tropes. This one doesn't disappoint. Will Dean is fast becoming one of my new to watch authors. This is the first book I've read from him but will be seeking out other books by him to read. This one was incredibly well-written, fast-paced, intriguing and all together entertaining book. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up. The story contains one of the best twists I've seen in a while and you won't see this one coming (or at least I didn't). Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for an early copy in exchange for an honest review.

A quick read (finished in a day and a half) and just interesting enough to keep me mildly intrigued. Not a bad book by any means and the major twist did take me by surprise, but just not necessarily my cup of tea.

My major gripe with this is that the Americans were clearly written by a Brit because we do not talk like that my guy.

Everything about this book is unhinged

I’m sure someone out there will love this book, it just isn’t me.

Personally, the protagonist took away from the other characters and I thought the whole book was a little… shallow? It just felt as though there wasn’t a great deal of thought put into the depth of the characters (including the protagonist).

I sat and read through this book in a matter of a few days and expected some huge twist. And while, yes, there were some twists with one being pretty major, I couldn’t help but wonder why?

The twists happened at the very end of the book, with no explanation as to why that person did what they did. It left me with more questions than I started with and it felt rushed towards the end.

This is a hard book to review. I loved it, but I also didn't like it, so it really could be anywhere from 2-4 stars for me.

One of my favourite childhood books was "Twins" by Caroline B. Cooney, and the description of this book sounded similar, so I was eager to read it! Especially because I loved Will Dean's last book "The Last Thing to Burn"!

There are some twists that I definitely did NOT see coming (not even close!)!! The main two things that bothered me was that the motive and reasoning for what was going on was kind of weak, and not explained all that well. Also, the plot is just a step over the line of believability.

That being said, if you can suspend your belief a little bit and just go with the story, it's a great read! I will definitely be reading more of Will Dean's work!

Sidenote: The Katie/KT thing got on my nerves - just use her normal name!
