I was provided with a free ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Everly has a long history of horrifying birthdays. Turning 30 is no exception. After walking in on her boyfriend and his assistant in bed, Everly heads to work. Stacey, her bff and deejay Everly produces, intends to sing happy birthday. Instead Everly recaps her ending relationship. Chris, radio station manager, sends her home. And the idea of a dating gane featuring Everly is born.
Everly and Chris have major chemistry- as they work closely on this project, they can't help but feel the sparks.
This is a cute romance with a clear ending. I loved Everly's very clear criteria, her openness regarding anxiety and other possible hindrances to her participation. Chris not only accepts these but builds her dates to ensure her comfort. Swoon.

It was (very) very slow burn, some "he falls first", good anxiety rep, and a clean romance as there's no smut. I can't ask for more!

I really liked the ongoing story with the station : how Everly's love life got broadcasted to public, the idea of doing some kind of Bachelor event, all the dates she went to, etc. It really gives content to the romance outside of the romance itself. It has a story, along with it. And as the romance was very slow burn and came in really late, some part because of this ongoing Bachelor story, it gives more important to it as well.

I didn't especially felt attached to the characters but that's not something important to me, I really liked both anyway. I liked the anxiety representation for Everly, even if there were part she said during the 3rd act that was very not cool and I disliked. Chris is a very great love interest and I loved seeing his POV, perhaps even more than Everly's one.

This book was enjoyable, but just a little too long and I felt like things were drawn out more than they needed to be. Everly's struggle with social anxiety is a major focus of this book, and while there are funny parts, and I did smile a lot, it can be heavy at times if you are someone who struggles with something similar. I didn't find Chris and Everly's relationship that interesting and felt like the chemistry just wasn't there. Overall, a fun read, but just a little too scattered and disconnected for me.

Somewhere between 2.5 and 3 stars

I generally liked this but am not certain exactly why. I did like the treatment of Everly's anxiety disorder - most of the time. And I do know, however, what bugged me about the book:

* Way too long
* So many people who needed therapy, especially Everly. Why had she not been in therapy for the past decade? Her parents certainly could've used couples therapy, and Chris and his brothers probably needed some therapy as well.
* Her parent were just horrible. Childish, manipulative, and oblivious to her problems. She is way too accepting of their faults.
* The author's description of Everly's anxiety was a little too graphic sometimes. I don't like parties and the like, and the surprise birthday party was too much for me.
* Everly's transformation from doormat to someone who confronts her problems came out of nowhere. There was no reason she should've been able to perform that switch so quickly.
* Both the H & h were under their parents' thumbs. At 30+ years old. Yuck.

Did not finish. I'm not into office romances sadly. Not reviewing or rating.
