It was an enjoyable book but I'd prefer the show at this point due to the writing. I feel like the author needed a better editor because the writing style was very choppy at times and at others repetitive. Even then taking into account this was written in the 90s, I knew more about three of the male characters including a side character more than the main female character which is extremely frustrating. Overall it was decent.

I wish I could find a series about a competent dude getting shit done that didn't involve blatant sexism.

I love to throw in a Jack Reacher book here and there during reading slumps. The sharp, blunt writing style is a welcome break for my mind! No difficult words or concepts, just the facts crisp and clear. I decided to read the books in publication order, so I started with this one. This first installment is a dark, brutal thriller/mystery. Definitely check content warnings before you read!

A great start to the Reacher series--it got me completely hooked on this series. After reading several of the novels, I think that Killing Floor has my favorite cast of supporting characters I've read so far. Overall, just a really enjoyable read, and one that I will probably come back to many times in the future.
