I don't read many reverse harems so maybe this is typical. I wish there was either more spice or more plot but it was fun to read. The heroine's main trait is her ability to be dtf everyone at all times and the book delivers on that. It's great for what it is. I think I might like book 2 better.

Well. This book was a JOURNEY.

I was in a book slump and was scrolling through tiktok for book recommendations. This was the first one that came up. The person said it was 18+ fantasy romance, so I said cool, I'll do it.

I downloaded it without reading what it was about or the reviews because I dont like reviews to sway me.

I should have done my research.

This is monster erotica, friends.

I don't just mean like vampires, although they're there.

I mean monsters.

I must say this is far from what I usually read

This book came up over and over again in my search to find the perfect dark gothic romance novel. And even though it fit into many of the boxes I was trying to tick, it didn’t have the one requirement that is so important for me. Instead of a slow buildup of the characters emotions and a gratifying and smoldering connection with the love interest, it had instalust.
There is few things that are as bland and unsatisfying as instalust to me.
Not only did the book start with sex, but the vast majority 376 pages was exactly that.  Not character development or story. Just sex.
They general idea and set up were fun enough but after like 2 hours of listening to yet another sexual encounter I was getting a bit numb and was really hoping that the main plot would finally begin. I honestly am not sure why I ended up reading the whole thing. Maybe I still had hopes that at some point I would get more than just more smut.
