This book is beautiful, tragic and has a wonderfully accurate cat as a protagonist. Five stars for breaking my heart.

Honestly, it's not very hard to make me love a book if it involves cats. This book hit straight in the feels and I loved it. It was easily written and funny. I loved reading about all the backstories of the people that were introduced and following the journey of the cat and his owner. It was a very small and very much a character driven book and I really enjoyed reading it. Also, it will make you cry.

This is the best book I have read in a long time. I was so engrossed in it. The characters have depth and are interesting. I feel that it was well translated at the same time as it kept the Japanese cultural context nicely. This book shows the love and care in human relationships and the fragility of life. It is both sad and beautiful. I don't often give a book 5 stars, but this is one of the few that I feel are life changing.
