A small-town, where everyone knows everyone, idyllic, quiet, safe; the place of your dreams. But behind the perfectly manicured lawns, and brightly coloured houses are dark secrets; and these kind of secrets don’t stay buried when someone turns up dead in their own kitchen.

I am a huge fan of Lisa Jewell, her books are some of the best thriller/mysteries out and I’m never left disappointed; and watching you was no different. She kept me on my toes, moving the story along quickly and making me suspicious of everyone - except for who I should have been suspicious about. I was completely surprised by the ending, the clues were littered all throughout the book and I missed every. single. one. Her writing style draws me in and keeps me there until the last page. The characters were all interesting, intense, mostly likeable in some way and she touches on mental health in a way I’ve not experienced before. She teaches us that people aren’t at all what you think on first (or second) glance, and the ones who seem the sweetest often aren’t, and the bad guys, well maybe they aren’t bad guys after all. She has a way of story telling that keeps you wanting to read the next chapter, no matter how little sleep you’re going to get as a result. Highly recommend.

I enjoyed this story but really shouldn't have listened to it as an audiobook. Wasn't the greatest. Because of the audiobook I dropped it from a 4/5 to a 3/5.
