π π π§π΅πΌππ΄π΅ππ: Absolutely frickin loved this one! I was so cool to read the OG book that basically inspired a whole genre of booksβ¦ some of which are my absolute favorite thrillers (The Guest List, An Unwanted Guest.. etc). I was on edge the entire time trying to figure out what was happening. Fans of secluded thrillers, Knives Out, Clueβ¦ youβll love this one!

Obviously some really problematic stuff in there. But a really good murder mystery, the end was *insane* would've never guessed. I couldn't for the life of me tell all these men apart tho. Only got easier once some of them were out of the picture.Β

βBest of an island is once you get there - you can't go any farther...you've come to the end of things...β
With great shame, I ought to admit that this is the very first Agatha Christie book I have ever read (and I'm hooked)! Ten complete strangers arrive to the Soldier Island at the invitation of Mr. Owen. Shortly after, one of them dies. And then another, and another .... It does not take long to figure out that the deaths resemble the storyline of the Ten Little Indians rhyme. When they realise there is no way out of the island, they start searching for the murderer. But which one of them is it?
Though mystery is not usually the genre I reach for, this book literally kept me awake at night. No matter how hard I thought about it, I could not figure out who was the killer. Even now, after finishing the book, I'm quite gobsmacked!

Wow. I donβt normally read mysteries, although I read one here & there as a kid. Christie kept me guessing all the way up to the very end, and I know I could have figured out the mastermind much earlier, had I thought more about it. I appreciate how she places you so insider each characterβs head that you forget to remain an outsider looking into the zoo. The employment of the nursery rhyme was genius. I followed it and still did not deduce correctly who the puppeteer was. I highly recommend this story to anyone who wants to get lost in the puzzle of Indian Island.
