i loved the premise of this book, billed as Agatha Christie meets TikTok.  It felt like it was paying homage to "and then there were none".  What didn't work so well was the narration by 10 different people who all had basically the same voice.  (I had to keep returning to the start of the chapter to see who was telling this part of the story). The ending was very satisfying though, after keeping me guessing throughout.  If this is a debut, look out for more from Olivia Worley!

If you're looking for depth, you won't find it here. This book reads like the cheesy as hell '90s teen slasher flicks I used to love, with an updated feel thanks to the fact that all the characters are obnoxious influencers. I can honestly say I didn't REALLY like any of the characters, but that made the book even more fun to read. There weren't a lot of huge surprises or twists I didn't see coming, but the ride was well worth sticking with it and this was the most fun I've had reading a book in a while.

Ten influencers set out to be on a remote island with no phones for the filming of a reality TV show. Suddenly, something tragic happens and it quickly becomes a very dangerous and deadly game. This book makes me never want to allow my children to have social media ever! This was a terrifying look into the influencer and content creator life, and how it can turn deadly. While this is obviously an over exaggeration of influencer culture, it does feel maybe just a hint too real. That being said, I feel as though I am slightly older than the target audience, as I don't even have a TikTok and have a private Instagram. I found this story to be an easy to read thriller. In fact, I flew through this one in a day. It was an interesting look at how far people will go to maintain their status in society, and what too much "fame" can do to a person. Definitely an interesting read, not the best thriller I've read this year, but I do look toward reading more from this author.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced copy of this book. All opinions within this review are my own.

⚠️ CW: murder, sexual assault and grooming ⚠️ If you're a fan of reality TV then this one is for you! They're used to being followed, but not like this. Ten social media stars think they're about to join the cast of a hot new reality show. But the production crew never shows up, and the influencers find themselves stranded on a deserted Caribbean island with no contact with the outside world, except for messages from the mysterious 'Sponsor', who is threatening to expose their darkest secrets. When one of them winds up dead, things start to get more real than they ever bargained for. And with the body count rising, the influencers must figure out who is trying to get them cancelled before their number one follower strikes again. This book had a really good hook and delivered the thrilling storyline that I wanted. Unfortunately though I just didn't seem to like any of the characters which dropped down my rating. Also with so many characters I did struggle to keep track at certain points but I think that's more of a me problem than a problem with the book. Despite this I did find it really interesting though and it kept me guessing until the end as to who the 'sponsor' could be. Overall, I really enjoyed this one and recommend it if you're looking for a thrilling remote island getaway.

As a group of influencers are stuck on a private island for a supposed reality show and cut off from the outside world, their secrets begin to be released and are "canceled" one by one. But why and how are they all connected?
This was a surprisingly good thriller! I had expected it to be more predictable, as most YA thrillers are, especially the first book written by an author. I kind of saw who was doing it but not why, and I mostly didn't trust them, I didn't know they were behind it all. This book had a lot of twists and turns.
An overall excellent thriller, but the MCs weren't very likable.

Thanks to Macmillan for the free copy of this book.

 - If you are looking for a juicy, escapist read, put PEOPLE TO FOLLOW on your list. I couldn't read it fast enough: every chapter ends on a cliffhanger, keeping you turning the pages and trying to guess what was coming next.
- This book both sympathizes with and expertly skewers the phenomenon of young influencers. The author seems to understand how lonely and unreal the life of a full time influencer can be, while also hitting on everything that makes the industry absurd.
