I took me a little longer to read this one...not that it wasn't good, it just was different. Nate and Dukes stories were filled with women that they had some connection with...Tarek and Nina just kind of happened and not that it was a bad thing, but something was missing. There wasn't a real build up to how they got together, while it was hot and filthy, I wanted more. Tarek was troubled and looking for something and Nina needed an excuse to be free and to know that she was worthy. Every time I felt like I was closer to understanding who she was, something in the story shifted or the depth was missed. Same with Tarek...overall, I really liked it. I am so happy I read it. I would love to just read a book with the women...especially Robyn. I'm happy 4 stars

Probably my absolute favorite of the series. I adored Nina and Tarek, their connection, the heat between them, their painful pasts, all of it. The idea of being attracted to someone because their broken is not a concept that is all that often explored in romance but I was fascinated by Tarek’s history and his guilt. This was a moving story about learning how to trust, both in someone else and in your own self, which is something I think both of these characters had to do some work to achieve. I liked that they both sought therapy because the story wouldn’t have resonated or felt realistic without that. This was just a deeply moving story and I really loved it.

CW: discussion of past abuse, mention of car accident.

I've eagerly been awaiting Tarek's book and damn it was worth it. sooo worth it. Nina my god she stole the book for me. I just adored her. Adored her with Tarek, adored them together.

Nina is an abuse survivor and Tarek has some past demons. Together they're just amazing??? Man Dakota does character development and just has so many layers to the characters she creates. How could i not fall for them?

Banter. So much banter. My weakness truly. Nina and Tarek made me laugh and deploy a lot of eye emoji cuz daaaaamn so steamy but almost made me cry too. Whew, the discussion at Nina's place.

Duke and Nate make a couple appearance and I gotta say i love when those three are on page together. Grumpy early morning Duke with his hoodie up is hilarious. We get to see Robyn and Kennedy as well!

I also loved the relationship between Nina and her sis. Love that she had her support system in place already and it was there and ready to give advise when the rough patch rolled around.

I also felt like Nina's fears were portrayed so real. Like they didnt just evaporate after meeting Tarek. They were still there and seeing how she handled that really struck me in the feels.

Would highly rec this entire series!
