3.5. Loved the setting and premise but dragged a bit. Picked up and had a solid ending.

Was this book full of cliche’s and tropes? Yes. Was each character a stereotype that didn’t have any depth? Yes. Did I know exactly where the book was going the whole time? Yes. Did I eat it up and spend all my free time reading it. Yes. Overall a fun summery time. Feel the mountain air on your face and smell the borscht. 3.5 ⭐️s.

Fun & engaging. Switches POV between a dozen different characters, all who are really vivid. It was fun to see the different perspectives of multiple generations & all these little secrets people had.

A charming family drama set in the Catskills.

Reminded me of summer camp and Dirty Dancing. I enjoyed all of the characters and each of their subplots.

It’s perfect summer reading filled with so much nostalgia.

This was such a fun story! Not to mention the exact right read at the exact right moment. Eylssa Friedland delivers us a perfect family drama that combines the right amount of tension & fighting with love & support. I found all the characters fresh and lively and completely entertaining.

I’m a big sucker for balanced conversations on generational divides: millennials vs boomers vs gen Z - in my personal life I’m often on my own little soap box talking on these topics - and Eylssa provides such great observations here. Never pitting one side as better than the other and, as I always like to say, each side benefitting and learning from each other. Of course the misunderstandings between the two is always ripe for great comedy … goat yoga for seniors anyone?

An excellent summer setting that had me yearning for a traditional summer getaway of my own. Characters are alive and the pacing is perfect. While the ending maybe came across a bit rushed, the whole was lighthearted without being insipid or stale. An absolute must summer read.
