Very fun fantasy series! Though I think Christopher Paolini would cringe at some of his old writing (and I sometimes do for him), the books are still always a delight to re-read. Especially fun to race @Lizzy Bassett through the series, especially the last book (I concede my defeat, but it was because of midterms, okay?? ;) which after finishing I am always confusedly angry with the author.

An overall satisfying end to Eragon's story. I've always loved the way that Eragon defeats the Big Bad with the power of empathy , highlighting it as a theme of these books.
I love Eragon's and Nasuada's chapters, but Roran's chapters failed to really interest me and I found myself having to push through them. And they're really the reason I don't find this a 5-star read (I am of the opinion that Roran kind of stopped being a super valuable POV character after Eldest, and that we could have any number of characters to give us the human, non-magical side of the war).

*RE-READ* Reading Inheritance there were moments I had a huge grin on my face and others where I got emotional. I definitely didn’t remember how the series ended and that it was quite the bittersweet and almost depressing ending.

I think by the tone I got to this I just lost interest. Now that Mr. Paoloni is writing again I am wondering if this is the time to give this another try.
Maybe after reading his new book ...
