I really wanted to like this book. It took me weeks to read it and I started avoiding picking it up. The story is deeply entwined with norse mythology, but reads like prompts for a video game.

Nothing about any of the characters held my attention. The plot dragged so much, it's 100 pages before anything remotely interesting happens and by 150 pages you can guess the rest. When Maddy turns out to be a god I rolled my eyes, because it's the only obvious answer from about 20 pages in. It's listed as YA, not sure it fits that genre particularly. Just disappointed. I almost didn't finish.

I don't know if I wanna bother finishing this book, it draaaaags. Had some good easy-read parts but otherwise maybe just not my thing.

I really wanted to love this. But I found it not quite what I was hoping for. The basic story is alright, but it's often slow moving and somewhat boring. I enjoyed the Norse mythology at times, but I wanted it to feel...more Scandinavian? Sometimes the very English sounding names brought me out of the story.
