May be triggering for someone who has been emotionally manipulated and for anyone whos attacked in their home by an intruder because that is described often.
A good mystery that was hard to figure out, all in all though I'm not sure it was worth how I ended up feeling by the end of it which is a personal reflection only. It was well written, paced well, I read it in 3days wanting to find out the truth and the prologue completely had my attention and drew me in. I liked the amount of trivia about film and such, that was enjoyable. Would be intrigued by a sequel.

As far as YA horror goes this is a fine book. The storyline was pretty standard, the characters were run of the mill and the ending was easy to follow. But it was just so long. I feel like 100 pages could have been removed AT LEAST.
I've read better YA horror, but I would probably rec to someone who is just looking for something.

Crying Score: none

I'm not sure if I'm past my YA horror era or if this just wasn't for me. I found all of the characters annoying, and very much you reap what you sow. A lot of the characters felt really underdeveloped to the point that when the twist came I wasn't really shocked, nor did I care. Not because I really saw it coming, just because the people who were involved were so underdeveloped, it just didn't matter.

Anyway, the basis of this book, rooted so deeply in a love for horror is a great idea and I just wish that it was better used.
