I thought this book was an improvement on it's predecessor, A fistful of Charms. I was glad to see Trent and Kisten in this book and seeing them have a storyline. Everything with David and the focus was interesting and there seemed to always be something happening. There is a big shock at the end that I didn't expect and I'm still not sure if I believe, but overall I did like this one.

Amazing! Best book in the series do far - just when I thought I had the characters worked out this book flips it on its head!! Looking forward to jumping into book 6!!

High paced action, which kept me wanting to read late into the night. Probably the best out of the ones so far. In general for the series, the romance is sorta 'meh', but I think the books strengths are in their emphasis on friendships and a few choice rivalries.

Wow! What a roller coaster this one is! I stayed up way to late finishing it. But I am not sorry. I’ll just double up on my coffee tomorrow.

This series just keeps getting better and better.

ACTION~~~In my opinion, the action was better in this book than the previous one.

The book was almost over whelming bc every character we've been introduced to in the past plays a part in this book. Especially every Villain. But it all comes together for a pretty much clean ending. The only down fall in the book is that we lose a very special person and we don't even find out who the killer is! That's killing me bc I've read reviews for the next book and we still don't find out who it is. I"m really hoping Kim Harrison will lead us to where we will slowly learn who might have killed this person, then her next book will be about that with some major action and a big bang! As well as closure.

HUMOR~~~Chapter 33 has got to be the BEST chapter I ever read! Forever, the rest of my life, I will think of Rachel whenever I hear Billy Idols "White Wedding". No more The Wedding Singer. lol && Jenks, you HAVE to love Jenks!

CHARACTER DEPTH~~~Not as much as the last book. But what you do get, it can go deeeep. And can lead to many more possibilitys. One scene was pretty heart wrenching. As much as Ivy is a mystery, you are slowly seeing her open up. In this book, there is a scene where she is painstakingly raw and vulnerable. Not as bad as before ((Mild spoiler? ->))
Spoiler when she was raped
but still heart wrenching due to a death.

SEX~~~OH yeah, we get some of that here ;)

MY OBSESSION~~~~I'm getting really attached the characters. To the point I'm accidentally calling my cat Ivy!! Her name is Zoey. lol It's so sad. hahahaha

Usually by this time in a series I'm either getting bored or we have a pretty good idea what the rest of the series is going to be like with few surprises, twists and turns. We have our story line set. But Kim Harrison does not go half ass! It's all or nothing! She definitely does it ALL plus MORE! It's like the best supernatural soap opera out there! I can't see myself getting bored of The Hallows any time soon. Matter of fact, I'm pretty sure if The Hallows was a real place I would definitely want to live there. With neighbors like that, it couldn't ever possibly be dull and their would definitely be some major spying going on. haha

POSSIBLE NEW TWISTS AND TURNS/SIDE NOTES/RAMBLINGS~~~Something is up with Ceri. We don't know this elf at all. She was a demons familiar and after this book.... you begin to wonder about her. Minias, is he really a bad demon? Could there possibly be more to/with this demon that isn't so bad? && Rachel seems awkwardly attracted to him! Even if she is scared. Trent, I thought there were some good possibilitys to him but now.. not so sure. One minute he's good. the next he's bad. Could there be some possible love affairs? With Rachel, I don't see it happening any time soon. What the hell is going to happen with Nick??? Will Jenks wife be ok? What's going to happen with Newt? What WAS she looking for? Will we find the killer? etc etc ECT!!!!

Keep reading to find out!!!

Don't let all these questions think you don't find any answers out in the book though. You Do! But these are some good leads that could lead to the rest of her books. I am very confidant that we will get our answers through patience of reading. The only thing that has me nervous is finding who the killer is. I'm very anxious about that!

Kept me reading but I'm not exactly happy with the sheer amount of dumb going on. Nonsense decisions abound here so now I'm just kind of frustrated.
