This is a new arc for Erica, and I'm very intrigued as to where this is going to go.

Also, it tore my heart out. How dare you?! (But I need more)

This volume is quite good and I think the time jump is spot on. I also like that we get a “specific” villain to balance against Erica rather than the entire Order. Not to mention, as soon as Cutter comes into the picture, you get a better idea of the hypocrisy and actual goals of the Order.

It is a little tough having to go through the same plot points in every new town Erica is hunting in. It’s not that it’s not told we’ll, just that the major story beats for how Erica is going to get connected to the town and meet people is almost predetermined.

This one was really good, too. Better than the previous one. My only complaint is that they could have given the readers more context on where and when this story started in comparison to the previous one. The entirety of the last volume was focused on Erica's origin, and then this
just jumped into a new monster case.
They didn't tell us how long after the previous case this is happening or where our if she even still in the order or not. It would've been better if they gave us more context in the beginning.
It also would have been good to be told if the other series "House of Slaughter" was supposed to be read in between these volumes or after or before.

Definitely a better volume in the series, but not as good as the last volume.

It’s been so long since I read the rest of this series, but this volume worked as a standalone. I’m excited to see more of these new characters!
