The RUIN of obsession, the MADNESS of love, and the PERIL of duty.

What a great ending!

Dukes of Peril did a great job of tying up all the loose ends and secrets that were revealed in the previous two books. There were things left open, however it looks as though these are things that will be part of future books.

What can I say about Lavinia. She’s a fighter who never gave up and kept on fighting for what she wanted. I still say Lavinia forgave Sy and Remy way too easily for what they did to her in book 2, but she also forgave Nick easily for what he did to her at the end of book 1. She should have made all of them suffer a bit more. There is a lot that happens between them that I can get through, but cheating, especially after the main characters have been intimate is a big no no for me, even though I did love the beat down the OW Haley got.

Watching her eventually opening up to her Dukes and allowing herself to be vulnerable with them was amazing to see.

And the Dukes.

We see Remy start counselling and get himself clean and get his head together even though he still talks in colours. Sy becomes the new King after executing Saul for everything he put them through, and we see Nick accepting his role as Sy's second easily. He never wanted to be King but would have stepped into the role if it would protect Lavinia, Sy and Remy.

We finally get the truth about what happened to Leticia (Lavinia's sister) and Tate (the Dukes best friend) the night they both died.

This book did have an epilogue, but not like the ending of the Lords series. The epilogue in this sets it up nicely for what is going to happen in the Princes books. Verity working as a spy for Lavinia and Story as the three of them have become really good friends. I won't say BFF's yet.

Bring on Verity and her Princes.

This installment begins immediately following the cliffy from Dukes of Madness. From there, we start the rollercoaster finale for the Fists of Forsyth.

Finally!! We get our questions answered. Not only that, we experience tremendous character growth and a strong redemption arc. And some seriously satisfying smexy times.

While Pretty Nick remains true to himself as incredibly over-the-top jealous and possessive, he is navigating it without being selfish and hurtful. He’s learned what Lavinia needs and how to temper that with Sy and Remy’s needs as well making him pretty dang swoony.

Sy. Ermergerd. The edging was painful, but so worth it. Watching him grow from the angry virgin into a thoughtful and passionate lover was the highlight of the trilogy for me.

Of course the angst and absolution for Remy was an emotional element in this book. I understood his motivation and could even empathize, but I was incredibly angry with him for being so immature. I’m not generally forgiving where cheating is concerned, and the grovel could have been (much) better, but he still ultimately won me over.

Lavinia has been strong throughout and I was glad that she never wavered in that regard. That she got closure related to Leticia AND vengeance against her father were icing on the cake.

Not my favorite of the series, but a solid read. The setup for the princes’ trilogy? Chef’s

Wow. Great ending to this trilogy.

I liked how the authors managed to make the characters their own instead of copies from the first trilogy.

Found Sy to be a bit boring though. Liked Remy and loved Nick. His and Lavinias relationship is just so interesting and epic.

The way this book set up the next trilogy was nice and testified that the authors seem to have a solid plan for plot and direction for the next trilogies. I will be eager to see if they can pull it off.

The timelines is shorter due to the fact of the timespan from the epilogue of book 4. I guess they would like to fit everything in before that.
