i love the story of the alamo, but some of the other hazardous tales are just a tiny bit better and that’s why i gave this 3 stars.

I retained more information about the Alamo than I ever did when I learned about it in school.

Full disclosure: Nathan Hale books are DEAR to me, as in I Drop Everything And Read them as soon as they land on my desk. They satisfy the history nerd in me in a way that no other series has. I am in my mid 30s and I have learned more history than I have ever forgotten reading these books.

I grew up on the east coast of the US so my knowledge of Texas history is that Texas exists. The end. I'm sure someone who grew up in Texas might have a different view of this book, but for me it was all knew and fascinating, if a bit insane.

Get this into the hands of any kid who wants to learn about history. Sneak it into the hands of those kids that say they want a war book or a book with fighting (there's plenty of it but it's history so it's good for them). Slip it into the pile of graphic novels that your comic book readers ask for.

I really enjoy this graphic novel series that brings American history stories to life. I found this one a little bit confusing with so many different people and groups to keep track of, but it's a complicated issue and I think that Nathan Hale did a great job making it as clear as possible. I kept reading funny bits out loud to my husband and I'm hoping he'll pick up this series to read soon, too.

This one was fine. I just don’t find this part of history that interesting, but I did learn some stuff. I also didn’t find this as funny as some of the others.

Another good entry in Nathan Hale's Hazardous Tales. I didn't enjoy Alamo All-Stars quite as much as some of the other books in the series. I think this is because I didn't have a lot of interest in the events of the Alamo going into it. I only had a vague idea regarding these events previously. This book provided a lot of context leading up the battle and explained the important figures of the time. Like the rest of the books, it is well researched and the presentation makes it fun to read even when it tackles very serious subject matter.
