All time favourite series. Will read the series again and again. I grew up with these characters and I hope give to my future child when she or he is eleven.

Love it!

I love you his series and I love reading it on any of my devices! This book reveals so much the mystery of Harry Potter and the books tell a lot more of the happenings in the world than the movies did.

I really liked this particular Harry Potter book in the series. You start to understand a lot of things better, and in previous books understand why certain things happened. Overall, LOVED this book! There was something about Harry and Voldermort and OMG! that was so out of the blue. I didn't even cross my mind that that could be possible. 5/5

JK Rowlings needed a better editor. Phew, that was a slog. Good ending though

Still waiting for the depth and sensitivity that these later books are supposed to bring. This one felt overly long. And like other 2star reviewers here, I felt the central plot premise was forced. I didn’t mind Harry being “annoyed/annoying” nor mind his yelling a lot. I don’t need him to be perfect. Just wish he gave us more insight into ourselves, instead of rather canned, typical stuff about teen male experience. But maybe it’s hard for Rowling since she’s never been inside that experience herself.

Took me almost 8 friggin years but finally got around to finishing this, and what a joy it was! It's looooong, but it holds itself up for the duration with a pretty compelling tale, it really kept me on my seat of how things were gonna shake out. Excited to get to 6!

An incredibly frustrating book. It is ridiculously long and outstays its welcome, but not before completely fumbling the plot altogether. The entire cast of characters act unlike their previous iterations and subplots are even recycled (how many times will Hagrid be banished from the school??)

One positive, and perhaps the ONLY positive, was the portrayal of Black’s death, especially compared to the film version. I was really struck by the sudden death without much dramatic buildup… Which only made it hurt more.

The later Harry Potter books take a lot longer to finish, but they're worth the effort. Like Stephen King, whose books became longer as he became more famous and his editors were able to constrain him less, J.K. Rowling presumably could feel free to tell the "whole" story without needing to be held back. And her readers (including me!) were happy to have more of the story to read.
