The perspective was interesting, if a tad anti climactic. Reminded me of The Shack but less religious.

I mean I always thought the story was building up or would deliver a greater message than "the dead will always be with you", and then (slight spoiler) the whole Ruth-Susie-Ray thing happened and that just ruined it for me. What was that?! The weiting in some parts was boring. Maybe there was something I didn't get but I have the feeling there was nothing to actually get here. Still 2 stars because it was an easy read that somehow kept me turning the pages till the end.

About 50% through, I dropped this book because I felt like it focused too much on romance that I didn’t care for, rather than the thrilling crime plot of the story that was actually interesting.
