re-listen 12/10-12/11 - and I have to give the full 5 stars!
Rating 4.5 and upgrading to 5.
Love the action, the pacing and love the narration in particular (obviously I listened to the audiobook version). Good continuation of the series.
This one was a bit different from the first book in the series, but I appreciated the back story and some about Evan's history. This one serves as a build up for future books, which I look forward to!

Probably the least favorite of the series. Evan gets taken by a crazed narcissist and what follows may be just a little too crazy for normal belief.
Overall a good book but the others are so much better.

Wow, this book was like a James Bond, Mission Impossible, Bourne film rolled into one! It was so gripping I had to sneak in reads during my work day!

Maybe he is a cross between John Puller and Jason Bourne fighting with villians straight out of the James Bond universe. Is that so bad?

I’d give this book 3.5 stars. Book #2 in the Nowhere Man saga. I do like the character of Evan Smoak who acts like a sort of avenger for those in trouble who can’t help themselves.
Having said that, this book did slip off the edge of credibility more than once.
Exhibit A: Why is it that all the power of the US government can’t seem to find Evan, but one private citizen manages to do so with seemingly little problem?
Exhibit B: Evan is helped to escape by a girl who hides—get this, a blooming metal car jack underneath her bathrobe 😳 “Don’t mind me, Mr. Guard, I just have a BABY KANGAROO underneath my robe. Let me in to see Mr. Smoak.” Seriously?
Exhibit C: Evan Smoak, an expert killer is allowed to walk freely around the compound because “it’s too cold and terrainy for him to escape.” I’m sorry, but if you’re trying to get 27 million from this guy, you ain’t going to let him wander around willy-nilly.
Exhibit D: Where, exactly, did Evan get 27 million dollars? The government assassin gig is much more lucrative than I imagined. Someone tell Jason Bourne.
Despite all this, the book managed to keep my interest and I ended up reading it in like three days. Hmm, in retrospect, what does that say about me?

Good thriller summer read with an interesting character backstory.

I definitely preferred the first book Orphan X as we spend way too much time "kidnapped" in this book and would have liked more action and focus on helping others rather than Evan in a room being gassed, tortured, failing to escape...not the Evan I enjoyed in Orphan X

I am very impressed that the author continues to develop the main character, Evan Smoak. He also gave us more of the back story started in book 1. Evan is trying to decide who and what he wants to be in life. When you get to the end of the book and the world he lives in and the world he wants collide... I had to immediately start book 3!
