Whispers and the Roars is a story you need to enter completely blind to enjoy it better. I love K. Webster’s writing. She isn’t afraid to cross some lines with the twists in her books. While I loved some part of this story fiercely, there’s other parts I felt forced and I didn’t connect as much as I would have liked.

At first, it was kind of anticlimactic for me with all these characters intertwined together, but around midway through the book all was explained and it clicked. I felt there was some missing parts in the storytelling to really feel the connection between Yeo and Kady and it kind of annoyed me a little. But as individuals, each character was completely amazing and spot on with the emotions conveyed. What can I say about Kady and her family? They’re all a bunch of special people that support her even in her darkest moments. Yeo is the one that helps her see through her struggles and his support is the best example of unconditional love.

Whispers and the Roars is a touching story with a side of mystery and darkness. Some facets of it will bring tears in your eyes while others will make you rage when faced with Kady’s battles. K. Webster sincerely accomplished to present a unique story that brought me a chaos of emotions.

Just don’t read spoilers believe me. I normally found about book a lot sometimes even reading last chapter before but don’t. I didn’t because someone recommended don’t so I didn’t. Believe it is good you will not regret.
Book was good rare books I wanted talk about.

Like always, I went in to this blind not knowing what to expect. This was a book club read and I had reservations going in as it didn’t feel like something I would normally read. I persevered and found myself sucked in to the story. I knew it was going to be deep. I had suspicions on what was coming, but still when it came I was completely mind blown.

I admit it — I was so curious about the ominous blurb and the author's direction to read this completely blind that I abandoned my reading plans and dove right in!

This story was a unique and poignant adventure. I won't give any details because I definitely agree that this story is best experienced without any knowledge of what will happen. But I will say that it's definitely dark at times — depicting severe trauma and violence — so make sure you are in the right headspace before picking it up.

“You are terrifying and strange and beautiful, something not everyone knows how to love.” Warsan Shires’s words in my messy teenage writing says everything. That quote is my Kady.

The author's note states that the themes of this novel are "unconditional love, understanding and ultimate dedication" and this could not be more true. Yeo's steadfast and absolute love for Kadence is clear through this entire book. Despite the dark cloud hanging over them, their love absolutely warmed my heart.

I'm impressed with [a:K Webster|36526833|K Webster|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/u_50x66-632230dc9882b4352d753eedf9396530.png]'s ability to unravel a twisted story by showing and not telling. I predicted the twist shortly before it was revealed, but it didn't take away from the story at all because it was so expertly done. I had to stop and think about the earlier chapters and appreciate Webster's cleverness. This is my second read from her and I can't wait to explore her (massive) backlist!

Definitely recommend this to dark romance readers that want something refreshing, unconventional and a little twisty with an intense and tender romance.
