Second time reading this, with seven years in between. I forgot how much I like our heroine’s romantic lead in this one.

"if the heroine of one novel be not patronized by the heroine of another, from whom can she expect protection and regard? I cannot approve of it." 4,5 stars.

I liked the feel of the words, the way they flow together. That's the magic of Austen's books, they go on so effortlessly!
This book did not live up to my expectations, but I greatly enjoyed it. I especially liked the creation of the character of Isabella, because she is a true character, a type of person that is actually found in our society.
The character of her brother too, was realistic, and did not fail to make me conscious of how sometimes humans can lie to such ends, and in such devious ways. At times I was really exasperated with those two horrid siblings. That is what's so great about this book, because our lives wouldn't always be demolished by hard-core devils and villains, sometimes it's done by people bent on making a way for themselves, and in doing so, they ruin our lives.
What disappointed me was Henry not having really fallen in love with Catherine, in the true sense of the word...but otherwise I found this book, like all other Austen's works, quite enjoyable.
