This was such a beautifully written, pensive, coming of age tale. Our narrator speaks of the summer that changed his life and all the fun, joy, fear, and revelations that came with it. I found myself with silent tears running down my face by the end. This book is filled with nostalgia and yearning for the ignorance of youth. It is an absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking story.

I really like what we got here. It just could be a bit quicker, more I tersting/less fluff and it would be better. I could see this working really well as a 6 episode mini series or a movie.

I LOVED this book. Great coming of age story with some spooky ish vibes. ❤

Read if you love the books/movies Stand By Me and/or Now and Then.

Entertaining, but to me longer than I imagined it would.

I thought this was great. I kept "anticipating" what I thought was going to happen next, or where the author should go and was absolutely gobsmacked by the ending. I guess I could not see that coming - now I need to reread this one to see what I missed. A nice little puzzlebox with some nice nostalgia (but not over-the-top in references). Great little read.

The final page has left me in a bit of a loss for words. I'm a fan of stories that give off that "Stranger Things" vibe, blending mystery and those lingering, unanswerable questions about the human brain. The characters, from Uncle C and Billy to Dove and the rest, have left me with a whirlwind of emotions. It's like having a heart full of weight and yet you still feel such warmness.
