If you're a theatre practitioner or just thinking about theatre there's no way Tannahill won't hit you with a few thoughts that seem obvious but I found this a great balance of fun, rigor and insight. He's on the money and pointing the way.

Entertaining and conversational, it delved accurately into key problems in theatrical spaces. Despite the lack of cultural changes being addressed, the discussion of risk-aversion in theatre (even with aged examples) feels irreverent.

This little book brought me so much comfort and taught me so much during a time when I have been doubting myself as a playwright/theatre artist. I can’t wait to read this again.
