This book was so easy to read but it remained mysterious until the end. Everything was so well described that I could imagine it clearly.
I definitely recommend it.

I feel like I've been lied to by the entire BookTube and Goodreads community. Goes to show - can't trust anyone these days. What the hell happened people?

This book was on my shelf for a solid month. Maybe I was waiting for a stranger to break into my apartment so that I can beat them with this behemoth. No, I think it was my inner reader self telling me to stay away from the hype. I should have listened.

The writing is pretentious. Beautiful prose is meant to connect you with the world and characters, instead I felt floating further and further away. In close to 600 pages, Laini Taylor managed to tell a story that actually takes 200 pages. I'm not kidding. Kids, jump to the last third of the book - you'll get the gist.

Enjoyed this a lot. First off, I liked how fleshed out most of the characters were. There were a lot of big characters in this book and all of them were well rounded. Also, I loved how Laini Taylor wrote about books and libraries in this. Poetic almost. I am excited to read the sequel.

4.5 Holy Shit. Welcome everyone, I call this ‘The Aftermath of Strange the Dreamer’
*screams for 12 consecutive hours*

So so so so good wtf I did not see any of that coming!

The only let down was the pace at which the story went. I had to put it down in the beginning and find something else to read because it didn’t capture me completely at the first chapter. I’d say after pushing through about 25 chapters (of 67) was when I really started loving it. The characters were unexpected, the underlying meaning behind every action and every phrase was just beautiful!

I seriously can not wait for Muse of Nightmares UGHH

I loved the world built here. I loved the characters, both on the ground and in the air. I loved the atmosphere, and the myth, and the power of her storytelling. I gushed about this book every chance I got, and I loved every page.
Until the last one.
To be continued....
