Not my favorite of the holiday books but always a pleasure to be with Jessica for the holidays. I didn’t guess the killer, even pages before the reveal, and to be honest I didn’t think it was a great, solvable mystery in the end. The evidence leading up to it was pretty manufactured and unbelievable. Forget motive for murder, I don’t think the premise of hiding the trunk in Jessica’s yard made any sense. The town antique dealer buries a chest of historical documents in someone’s yard instead of displaying them for historical record? Nah.

3.5 stars, I enjoyed the book but there are some holes in the plot so the ending wasn't as satisfactory as it could have been.

The references to the high murder rate of Cabot Cove made me laugh
