A great popcorn thriller! Kept me flipping the pages and had a surprising ending (though I should’ve seen it coming)

This is one of those books that stays with you forever. From the beginning, it had me captivated and all the way through it delivered twist after unbelievable twist.
The writing was exceptionally crafted in a way making you feel that you knew what twists were going to happen, but nah the very ending…utter jaw dropping!
Reminded me of Behind Her Eyes!

A young woman takes a job as a nanny for an impossibly wealthy family, thinking she's found her entre into a better life--only to discover instead she's walked into a world of deception and dark secrets.

Nanny needed. Discretion is of the utmost importance. Special conditions apply.

I'm not usually a psychological thriller reader but I was hooked from the first line; I couldn’t stop reading this amazing book. I loved how the characters were portraited and how Georgina made you liked them and then, BAM!, she made you change your mind completely about the characters you liked or thought they were good. I really liked Sarah and how she managed everything at the end. I was very surprised with the plot twist because you didn’t see it coming.

Definitely a 5/5, cant wait to read more of Georgina Cross.

Two Crackbooks™ in a row? What hath I done to deserve such bounty??

Look, this book is ridiculous. You will have to suspend ALL the disbelief. But I did not want to get off this carousel ride from hell. I sort of guessed where it was heading (which probably means I'm as unhinged as this book), but not all of it. If you love unputdownable popcorn thrillers, do I have a book for you. Just watch your popcorn.

With thanks to HarperCollins UK Audio, Avon and NetGalley for providing me with an advance copy of this audiobook, in return for a free and unbiased review.

Nanny needed. Discretion is of the utmost importance. Special conditions apply.

When Sarah Larsen, a waitress deeply in debt, finds a notice advertising a nanny position at an exclusive NYC address, she thinks she has nothing to lose in applying. Nobody is more surprised than her when she interviews for the position and gets the job, despite her complete lack of nanny experience. But when things like this happen that seem to good to be true, they generally are just that. Sarah quickly realises that all is not as it seems in her new place of employment, and find herself drawn into a world from which there may be no escape!

This was my first venture into the writing of Georgina Cross, and certainly won't be my last! Such a novel idea for a story and so wonderfully executed by the author, this was a gripping psychological thriller that grabbed me right from the start, kept me engaged throughout its many dark twists and turns, and spat me out the other end, in wonder at the final big reveal!

I listened to the audiobook version, and the narrator Emma Ashton also did a fantastic job of bringing both the male and in particular the female characters to life.

Will certainly be keeping an eye out for more works from this author.

Solid 4.5 stars for me!!!

I really enjoyed this book! I was sad when I had to stop reading because I needed to know what craziness was about to happen next and believe me, this book is jam-packed with crazy! I was constantly saying WTF to myself. Could this all be true??? Nanny Needed will have you gripping your book and flipping as fast as you can. This was my first Georgina Cross book and it won't be my last!

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for my advanced readers copy in exchange for my honest review.

3.5 ⭐️ rounded up

I enjoy books with unhinged characters, and this one did not disappoint. I couldn't put it down and sped through it in a day, eager to find out what would happen next.

Sarah is deep in debt when she comes across a "Nanny Needed" posting on the bulletin board of her apartment. The Birds family seems perfect—rich, elegant, and with only one three-year-old child for Sarah to take care of. The pay is good enough that it wouldn’t take long for Sarah to pay off her debts. The only catch is that “discretion is of utmost importance.” So, what could possibly go wrong?

Multiple twists and turns throughout the story kept me on my toes. However, the reveal at the end fell a bit short for me. It would have been great if you could suspend disbelief, but unfortunately, I tend to ask too many questions.

Still, this was an enjoyable read. I recommend it if you're looking for a quick thriller read.
