A cute quick read. I liked the representation.
Update July 2022: I don't know why I rated this book as 4 stars last time. It's so cute and amazing and Reggie and Gus are super relatable. They both definitely have their issues and things that will cause them to potentially overreact, but they actually work through their problems in a healthy way that makes it believable that they'd last.

no one come for me because i haven't read any of the reluctant royals (THO I AM INTERESTED!!!) but this was just okay to me. the nerdy references got a little annoying after a while but at least the two characters were cute (also lol at reggie being like "nooo this isn't insta-love" like girl yes it was ksgfklgjlks)

Again, another win for this series and you get to see Reggie find love!! I love Cole's writing and added diversity in this series and this books as well! Loved the backstory and how these two found each other and the chemistry in their first meeting.

Cute! I loved the couple in this one, and found the overall story cute. A perfect little escape of a book.

The Good
I loved both Reggie and Gus so much! I wish this was a full length book because they both were so interesting to read about and their relationship was so sweet and full of understanding. Two nerds in their own ways with their own differences falling in love.
The Bad
I really wish this was a full novel and not a novella because the dynamic between Reggie, her sister, and her family was super complex and I wish we got to see that more.
The Rating
I give this book a 4/5

Nerdy love is best love
Nerdy references absolutely everywhere, a fake anime so well developed that I wish it was real, and a couple so cute I could barely stand it. What more do you need?

I loved these characters. FYI this does spoil one of the books in the series. It can be read as a stand-alone IMO. Excited to go back and read the rest of the series.
