I have read the cute, heartbreaking story of Fruits Basket years ago. And I read it about 3 or 4 times, maybe more. The story is a bit cliche, but the characters are memorable.
A story about closed off loners that broken, depressed and sad individuals hoping for a happiness they could never achieve. Each characters deals with the pain and loneliness differently, learning how to embrace happiness and bloom into individuals they never thought they could be.
Its beautifully written, heartwarming, with relatable emotions anyone can feel. This is one any manga avid reader should go through at least once. A classic that should honestly be recommend by anyone.

I really love all of the cute little romantic interactions that occur in this series. The romance is slowly building, and I appreciate how it's not super obvious how it will resolve yet. At this stage, we don't know who will end up together.

- Ayame is more of a girl than Yuki! It must run in the family.
- Momiji has a sad life. How could his mother feel like that? How could any mother shun her child?
- Okay! The author's notes are starting to get annoying. I don't know what she is saying half the time.
- Akito gives me the creeps.
- Not a ton happened in the this volume. I'm hoping the story picks up soon.

I skipped the first three volumes, and went straight to number 4 because after I finished the anime I was in serious Haru withdrawal. As should be expected, the manga delivers everything you want it to. Amazing simplistic art, and content that jumps effortlessly back and forth between humor and drama; this is just a pleasure to read.
