This was uber cute!

I don't think I was expecting this to be a a kind of fantasy but it was. A YA, RomCom, Fantasy and I enjoyed it. I was a quick read and I literally finished it in one sitting.

I like how there was so many non-binary, gay and bi characters, but I didn’t like the story it self and the way it was written. If you like more of a Wattpad, high school, complicated romance, fantasy story then this book is for you.

I would give 5 stars if the entire 3rd act the characters were actually together, we spend the entire book waiting for the tension to build and for Ross and Sean to realize they love each other i wanted them to be together for Ross’s last days and it was ruined over a miscommunication it just infuriated me more than anything.

Despite the 3rd act quarrel, i love the queer rep in this book as an enby myself i loved Ross’s ability to express themself as they wanted wearing what they wanted.

If only there was some fanart of Sean as a Mer or Ross wearing feminine clothing

Definitely not for me - I loved the concept and the lore around merfolk seemed interesting but both main characters were annoying to me and I just felt myself disengaging the more I read

The ending has me cackling, why did so much drama go down in the last 50 pages? why are they both so horny all the time? It makes me a little uncomfortable like they're 16???
Also both of the main characters were so Insufferable to me, no one talks like that or thinks in metaphors and similes of their hobbies and interests like that and despite them constantly talking about swimming and film etc, they were both such flat characters all they did was be horny for each other 24/7
