3.5 stars. First, snaps for the double meaning of the title. Expertly played.
Because I'd read intriguing takes on this (as subtitled) "illustrated misadventure in love and loneliness", and because I serve many readers who are more apt to sample a wordless graphic novel, I suggested this for our collection. Though not exactly the arc I was led to expect, it still wields resonance and inspires reflection. Perhaps a textured mini-companion to [b:Seek You: A Journey Through American Loneliness|55648627|Seek You A Journey Through American Loneliness|Kristen Radtke|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1604997087l/55648627._SX50_.jpg|79069490].
art note: The sketch style of pencil illustration conveys a raw youthfulness that eschews polish, and it serves both narrative and theme well. Occasionally a more delicate glimpse of the outdoors is depicted, and I found myself pausing with the impact. The limited palette of greys, black, and muted red grounds the story in a fairly effective play.

Best Graphic Novel, next only to The Arrival, in my opinion.
Cute, gorgeous art and use of color.
