What an amazing way to finish off the series. The book is well written, smooth flowing and easy to read. The imagery is so vivid you can picture every scene. The characters, their emotions and the experiences they go through are depicted extremely well. I felt so many emotions while reading this book. Happy, excited, amazed, frustrated, sad, angry, betrayed.
Living in a war ravaged world, The Black Rose has found her mate in Cassius Allarde, the Vampire King. He is trying to bring peace between species, eliminate rogues, and make the world a better place. After rescuing his mate from Hell and the King of Demons Basilus, Cassius knows the only way to protect Rose, is to eliminate Basilus. It will not be an easy fight, it will be an all out war.
In this book, you will find out who will stand with Cassius. Some want peace while others want chaos. Having a Chinese God in your corner is a good thing, but will it be enough. Will Rose get her happily ever after with Cassius? Will she live long enough to see the changes Cassius wants to implement? She is half witch, half wolf, assassin extradornaire, bringer of the ancient prophecy that led to the hunting and near extinction of witches.
I have absolutely loved this series. If you like witches/vampires/wolves/demons/gods/angels etc I highly recommend this book/series. The books do need to be read in order to truly understand what is going on.

I've said it more than once..... AK Michaels knows how to write a book. This one didn't change my opinion.
I fall in love with every character and feel everything they feel. I have no idea how she gets you so invested but I'm pretty sure she is a supernatural force herself.
Don't take my word for it pick up book 1 in any series she writes and you will become a believer too.

With Rose rescued from Hell surely life will quiet down some? Teah. not likely in this action packed, passion filled series! Basilius still has Rose on his radar and there may be some traitors in Cassius camp.
Mysterious Chinese God Kuan is seeking allies in the most wondrous places. We see new mythical beings not mentioned in the other books of this series - no spoilers but they got big...wings!!! Will Zeeandra and the Dragon Guard be able to help in the fight against Basilius evil horde? Or will they continue to keep far from the eyes of man?
There are many loose ends to tidy up in this book and most of them were. My favourite secondary characters got their HEA - yeah!!!!! We met some fabulous new characters who I hope will pop up in other series, especially Sydney, kick ass, FEMALE, vampire guard! My favourite fire demon in back and I'm biased cos she has my name - well that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
It's sad to come to the end of this series to be truthful. With its dystopian edge it was much different than Ms Michaels other series. The writing and narrative were suitably edgy and there was always that hint that things might not just turn out all roses! Another lovely things is the way Ms Michaels introduces you to other PNR authors in her work (through Rose using a functional e-reader). A true supporter of other authors and not afraid to give them a mention (Monica La Porta and Eden Elsworth)!
