I don't know how I got here.
How did Odessa make me feel like this relationship was fine?

I enjoy the building up, the anticipation towards it all, it was hot actually and the plot quite solid on the first half until I'm a bit lost towards the end I think that's just a me problem.
Oh yeah I loved that they always touch starved of each other.

Didn’t like the writing style. I started skimming pages after like 50%. I got so far because I paid for it but end it giving up anyways lol

I was so excited when this was announced and it did not disappoint! There aren’t a lot of grandfather/grandson taboo out there so I jumped on this immediately.

Ian is the head of a crime family on the West Coast and he has been caring for his grandson, Oskar, for basically his entire life. The relationship between them was adorable and I stan a protective grandfather who gives his grandson everything he could ever want - except llamas.

We got introduced to a bunch of characters who I’m hoping get their own books in the future (looking at you, Holden and Arlo!) And that epilogue?! Perfection!

This was another hit from Hywell and I can’t wait for the next one!

Always Oskar is the story of a grandfather and his grandson. We have Oskar, the grandson of a powerful and rich mafia boss in LA. Until his grandfather Ian rescued him from his parents, he was an abused and neglected child. Under the care and love of his grandfather, he lives a life of luxury and knows he is well cared for and protected.

This story is light on the mafia/crime aspect, mainly focusing on Ian and Oskar's relationship as they navigate that line between being family and lovers. The story was really, really sweet and romantic. I don't know, but Odessa seems to have a knack for writing very sweet and romantic incest stories. I loved how they were constantly touching, Oskar sitting on his lap, Ian's care to ensure his sugar levels were good, how he indulged Oskar, everything! This was all before they even got together! The sexual aspect of their relationship takes a while to progress too.

I want to say that I did a double-take. A chapter in I stopped reading and went to GR to confirm I was reading what I thought I was reading. I didn't check the blurb going in, so I assumed they were father and son, but nope, it really was grandfather x grandson. This story has one of the biggest age gaps between MCs in a book I've read (not including any mythical/magical MCs)

My one issue comes from the epilogue. While seeing them ten years later was sweet Oskar became out of character. People can change, yes, but I don't know it felt a bit odd to me. Overall it was a sweet, sweet story! I enjoyed it and can't wait to read the rest of the series!
