This series was intriguing at times but mostly just ended up being depressing.

Absolutely loved it!
Although some parts are a little far fetched you can overlook them. It's brilliantly written and the story has more and more plot twists. I prefer this book to maze runner as it has more action, betrayal and twists, ordering book 3 very soon I just hope it doesn't go too over the top.

It definitely wasn't as good as the first book. But this book was FAR better than the movie they released which, did they even read this book?, I was worried about reading it cause I hated the movie so much. While the story lacked in a lot of areas and seemed like a filler book. No questions were answered just more confusion which I can understand we are supposed to feel like the gladers in that aspect but it overall wasn't a very exciting sequel. I'll finish the series just cause I'm so curious about WICKED.

I really liked the first book in the series, and was very excited to read the second one. When I got to reading it, however, I was kind of disappointed. 'The Maze Runner' always made want to read on, and never lay the book down, with 'The Scorch Trials' I did not feel this way. It stretched on for a very long time, I found myself getting bored easily. Another thing that annoyed me, was Thomas continuously passing out, I get that it was added to create suspense, but for me it did the exact opposite.
If this book had been a stand-alone, I'd probably have given it a 2-star rating, but since I loved the first one, I'm going to give it 3 stars and hope the third one will be more like the first.

I want to be able to say that this changed my opinion on James Dashner's writing. But it didn't.
I still find him incredible repetitive and unimaginative. The plot line is incredible but I can't seem to fall in love with it, when he's writing it.
I'm confused as to what Teresa's role is in this whole story - is she bad is she good. It is making me confused and who even is this Brenda girl she needs to leave so that Tom and Teresa can be together but Tom won't get over the stupid (fake) betrayal.
Still unsure on how I feel about this book. Still going to read The Death Cure to round of the trilogy and my friends are adamant that the books get better.

Maze Runner definitely beats this sequel.
