The action in this book was way better than the first because it had larger consequences, was more engaging, and bigger players in the game. I still have some of the same issues I had with the first book, mainly the really odd phrases used that pull me out of the story and the weirdly sexual lense almost every female character is seen through. As well as Nick’s “sassy quips” please for the love of anything holy make this kid stop. It gets extremely irritating after about 2 chapters.

This ending has me more interested in the next book but I doubt I’ll be continuing the series beyond the third book seeing as it’s the last one I own and I don’t feel it’s worth it to locate the fourth.

I am on a roll folks. I havent been this eager nor read a book (in a series) this fast since I cant remember when.

i just loved it. the snark, the sarcastic commentary between all of the characters, the embarrasing things Nick's mom says to him it all keeps me turning the pages.

This is such a quick read, (it helps that the font is large and the margins are rather on the big side, but hey i dont care. I am enjoying these books.

On to the next one in the series.

These books are kinda crazy complicated when you wait a year to read the next book. It's good though, pretty fast paced.

Review to come.

Nick is back and better than ever. He grows more powerful, sharpens his razor wit, and slowly learns how to interact with the opposite sex. It's fun, funny, and sprinkled with great action.
Highly recommend it.

I enjoyed this more then the first book in the series. It developed Nick a lot more and was faster paced from the start. A nice YA series that has a male protagonist.

Second in the young adult urban-fantasy series, Chronicles of Nick, which parallels the Dark-Hunter series.

My Take
Most of the story is of Nick discovering and trying to learn how to deal with his supernatural side while under attack from demons and the new Coach. Seems Coach made a deal some years back, and now he's forcing Nick and other students to cater to his demands…or die.

Nick also learns more about Nekoda's role in his life and he's suddenly getting popular with girls…who knew super powers could be so useful!??

The Story
It's the day after the zombies have attacked the school when Caleb revealed his role, and Nick's mom has lost her job due to Nick's little stunt.

If Nick only knew all we discover in Invincible, he might freak a bit more.

The Characters
Nick Gautier is in school, destined to be the Malachai. His human mom is more of an off-stage yet very present influence.

Bubba and Mark pop in at least long enough for Nick to help clean up the store from the zombie attack as well as Mark helping Nick with a little project.

The Grim Reaper pops in to "teach" Nick but his agenda doesn't necessarily fall in line with Nick's — there's some ulterior purpose here. Heck, everyone is keeping an eye on Nick and wondering if he'll keep his humanity.

Kyrian Hunter is a Dark-Hunter.

Acheron "Ash" is the head of all Dark-Hunters. In charge of their training, their morale, and saving their asses when it gets too deep. His "boss" is Artemis, the creator of all Dark-Hunters and the meanest, nastiest bitch you will ever encounter. Simi is a Charonte demon who lives on Ash as a tattoo, available when needed.

The Cover
I like the cover — a young man with his back to us and his head in profile with a huge circle of symbols on his back. Even if he isn't wearing a Hawaiian shirt.

Much better

This was a much better read than the first one, and I love how the storyline is unfolding. This is much more unpredictable than the normal Dark Hunter romantasy novels. It leaves you wanting to keep reading to find out what happens in upcoming books.
