This book was amazing! It took me a while to read it, but that was nothing to do with the the book. I was hooked from the word go and hooked right until the end. And that ending!!! Cannot wait for the next book I think it will be just as epic!

Not a bad book....but too much talking between the action - could use some more show not tell via dialogue....The twists at the end made it better too; even if one of them was reasonably obvious throughout most of the book.

Fun book with some interesting twists on what would happen in a world with Superheroes. I'm not the target audience for this book but enjoyed it regardless. It was super refreshing after reading the last couple of books on my list, which were very *emotional* and *dark* and *female*. I was excited to see how the characters would figure out the ending and had suspicions I needed confirmed about a certain character and was rewarded. I'll probably be picking up the next book though it's not at the top of my list right now.

This is also my first Brandon Sanderson book. He's been so hyped to me and I saw a lot of good here. Not sure if this is the best thing to read of his out the gate? I'm not sure. Mistborn is definitely on my list and I recently purchased Skyward which I've seen good things about. Will definitely see what else he has to offer.

This is a frustrating book. There is a good story here (altho having been published after The Boys and Wildcard there is little original), but the writing is shallow and at times actively painful.  Now I don't know if that's because Sanderson is writing from the POV of an 18 year old boy who is 'quirky' and 'not a nerd' or if it's genuinely substandard. I think it's a bit of both. The characters aren't particularly well fleshed out just names with an accent and one defining feature attached, the whole motif of metaphors is belaboured and just eye-rollingly bad at times. I think I'll have to read the wiki page to see how it turns out because I can't subject myself to this style of writing again.

A friend recommended this book. When I started I was just like will see how it is but This book is simply superb.
Basically the book is about the story of David's(Protagonist) revenge for his father death.
Every character is well written and the world he created it was so awesome.. I liked megan's character so much.. Waiting for the next one in the series.

And finally I am thanking my friend for such a lovely recommendation.

I read this book in one day. Granted, I was on a plane the whole time, but I think that's still a good recommendation of its enjoyability. Felt dark, similar to a Gotham superhero story, with a few speculative and post-apocalyptic sci fi elements. Will probably continue with the series, but I'm not in a hurry.
