Another wild ride for me

Wow, just wow. I thought this was going to be drawn out and lose my attention within each character’s thoughts, but nope. I was clinging to every word. But note that I hate Shawn so much that I did skim his chapter…

Fox: He doesn’t get it! He doesn’t get it! I was saying this to myself on repeat. Even Luther told him that he needed to let up on his possessiveness of Rogue and Luther doesn’t live in the damn house and isn’t around them enough! Fox needs to chill and stop trying so hard. Stop saying scary things like “I own you,” “you’re my girl….” He not listening and doesn’t want to admit that Rogue doesn’t want him (though we know she does).

JJ: Still my favorite!

With Chase’s fresh betrayal, and Maverick’s almost bipolar treatment, Rogue doesn’t know what to think or who to trust.

How could she have let the boys in again, only to be betrayed by them AGAIN?

She should never have come back to this godforsaken town.

I don’t even know where to begin.

All of these characters are broken, damaged, borderline idiots.

Rogue keeps getting herself into these situations and then just tucks tail and runs. Every time. Which then gets her into more situations that she will inevitably have to run from.

Chase…I mean. Why? He cannot be that blind not to see that he’s the one fulfilling his self-created prophecy!

JJ is great and fun and accepting…but he know what this will do to Fox. And yet keeps doing it.

Fox was actually kind of hilarious in this. Wanting to find some wooing guidance in romance novels, and can’t understand why using Edward Cullen’s creeper ways as his basis doesn’t work.

Maverick is the only one who seems to be able to amalgamate Rogue’s wants with his alphaness, AND be honest with her about everything. And here I thought he would be the most toxic of all of them.

The series so far has real Hades series by Tate James vibes. Gritty, gripping, hawt, alphalicious…

A truly evil cliffhanger on this one. Apparently the last wasn’t painful enough.

Honestly, I’m just reading this for the moment when
Fox finally gets on board with sharing
. I’m hooked to know how that happens, but also kinda hating this series. It’s a love hate situation for me for sure right now.

Well, that cliffhanger certainly was not nice. Lol. That is one brutal cliffy.

“I always knew I’d find you again one day, “He said, breathing in deeply like he was trying to inhale my soul. “We were written in blood and bone. The sum of all we ever were and will be.“

Maverick and Rogue together again. Book one definitely left off with me concerned for Rogues life in the hands of Maverick but the beginning of this book, I really feel like their relationship is my favorite one out of all of the other boys in the group. Their love for each other even through all of Rogues frustration and tears, it’s so real and so beautiful. He’s definitely my favorite guy. Overly jealous and possessive and so sexual and steamy. Lol

These two eventually come up with a plan to send Rogue back to the Harlequin Boys and try to steal those damn keys to the crypt.
“I may not have been a big, tough Harley Quinn gangster, but I was a bad ass bitch with a weapon of mass destruction in my fist. “

With her coming back into their lives, it makes them overly protective and it straight up just pisses Rogue off. She promised herself she would never be treated like this again after her disastrous relationship with Shawn. Not to mention we have Chase.
Chase is such a hard character to love or to hate. On one hand his background makes me feel so bad for him. And I can understand his reasoning as to why he backstabbed Rogue in book one. He just wanted to keep his family together. On the other hand he’s now seriously regretting it and let’s just say when the truth comes out, shit explodes.

With the Harlequin brothers falling apart, Luthers character took a interesting turn. And I don’t hate him either. We get more backstory with each and every character especially Luthers reasons as to why he forced Rogue away.

And the huge issue of the story. Going back to Shawn. The crazy psychopath. He is the reason why we have a truly horrible cliffhanger in book 2. This guy will not die. Lol I’m truly invested in this story and I hope that cliffhanger takes a turn for the better and book 3. Lol

Also, did anyone see the quick reference to Zodiac Academy? I was seriously dying laughing over it!

I had to give this book a 5 out of 5. Many parts were skippable but there were just so many parts just had me kicking my feet, parts that my jaw was on the floor, parts where I was blushing, parts where I was tearing up… like this book has stripped me RAW… daddy Luther showing up, maverick and the boys getting together,
…. like rogue had dragged them apart but she’s also the one bringing them together. Oh my god. I can’t wait to read the next book. There better be another fucking threesome
