Even in an advanced, hopeful, peaceful, solar-punk world, the people that live there will still have the same internal struggles we face today. Enter Sibling Dex, and their small but consequential... existential crisis. 😅

Using the word crisis might sound extreme, but trust me, this book is anything but harsh. Reading it was like applying a warm compress to an ache I had long forgotten. I typically skew towards darker, more challenging books, but I enjoyed this so much. Certain cozy reads have turned me off in the past with their excessive, flowery, and meandering language. Chambers' writing shows how cozy stories can be written with direction and beauty. I'm sure I'll come back to this when I'm having a hard time in the future.

Holy shit.

I didn’t expect to have a reaffirming life realization from this little book.

This is really the first book of the year that let me examine my life choices and feelings towards the “what’s next?” question that plagues my late 20s.

I think this author just isn't for me. Her books always seem to read like self help books on a fantasy wireframe. While I enjoyed some of the conversations, most were a bit overdone and could have used a bit more subtleness so that they better fit with the narrative of the story. She focuses a lot on directly telling the reader why we should do things a certain way rather than just showing how awesome the world could be and letting the reader reach those conclusions themselves.
