so heart wrenching

You know I hate reading the cheating trope but i also can only read it if its Ashley James writting it! This story gutted me and glued me back together. My only thing stone should’ve groveled so much more regardless of the reasons he left. However this was beautifully written and so happy to see some of the previous guys make an appearance

The writing wasn't great, a lot of gratuitous cursing, errors and inconsistencies - could have used another round of proofreading/editing.

Also just struggled with the characters and the second-chance aspect of the story. Not sure if there's ever a good enough reason to leave someone you love without contact or communication for 5 years and then just hope they'll allow you back into their life and not be upset with you. 🤔

TW

Age gap, Professor/ Student, Forbidden, MM, Second chance romance, grief, guilt, alcohol abuse, cheating (not between MCs)

This book really put me through all the emotions but I loved every second of it. It's one of those books that a five out of five star rating is not good enough! I loved the forbidden nature to their relationship. Stone has been in an unhappy marriage for years, him and his wife basically living separate lives under the same roof, and he is Cash's professor. Their attraction for one another was instant and they tried hard not to give into their desires but the pull for one another was too strong. Chemistry between the two MCs were sweet in the beignning, then explosive in the second part, then back to simmering and sweet in the third part. This book will take you on a 5 year journey with two men navigating their way through love, loss and forgiveness. I really loved the cameos we got into the lives of Bran & Luca and Knox & Aston.
