So i did say i'd review All Suicide Squad New 52 volumes and here's me doing the Volume 2 review

to be honest the book had many good things going for it and on another day i might have rated it 4 star or more , sadly that's not the case as with all the good that this volume did there was a fair bit rubbish in there too .

The story follows after the event of
Spoiler Deadshot shooting Harley and foiling her effort to betray the team
Amanda decides to send the team to a new mission while we see a background group of terror outfit are planning on killing Amanda walker and hence planting a mole within the suicide squad , which leads to the group being distrustful of each other and being sent on a 2nd mission

So What i liked was obviously the action which was nicely drawn and the overall plot of a mole within the squad was also a nice touch , keeping the mystery angle fresh in the story and making the readers guess , meanwhile This particular book was also reliant on the whole squad and not just the key trio of Deadshot , Harley and Boomrang . More pages were spent on the likes of El Diablo and Killer Shark and those were really enjoyable .

What i Didn't like however were first the inconsistent art panels , on some panels the art looks absolutely beautiful while on the others they look weird with the characters portrayed showing expressions not matching the ongoing plot . Meanwhile the arc had a lot less Harley quinn meaning the already dark story of Squad turned more darker and there was absolutely no light moments , similarly one of the biggest strength of Suicide squad is it's characters and their respective backgrounds alas absolutely no pages were spent in trying to explore any character details .

The whole mystery in the plot also became obvious from the page one
Spoiler i mean if you have to show a mole who is of african descent than atleast put a few African squad member instead of just one the obvious mole African member
the final battle also seemed bizzare as events just kept happening with no reason at all , the finale felt rushed and there was a whole angle that i think DC could have explored with Amanda and her grandmother but that never happened and after it ended the way it did , the whole introduction of her grandmother felt needless .

Overall it was a fairly average issue and it could have been better had some obvious errors not been done , there were certain angles explored in this edition that might have impact on the series in the future and that will be anticipated well

Meh.
Just. Meh.
A pity, the start of this series was quite promising. I just didn't care about the plot or for any of the characters, giving up on it.

This took the interesting bits from the first volume and got rid of them in favor of one of those plots where everyone is a triple secret agent and also there is hypnosis or something. Mostly dumb, although mildly entertaining.

Wait . . . what? No way did
SpoilerDeathshot
get the axe. He's to awesome, probably made a bad ass escape!! (Bad ass seems to be my fave phrase for the New 52 lineups lately.) Cool wrap up, and poor-poor Yo-yo. Yuck.

Overall I think the twists and turns were pretty fun, though the betrayer seemed the obvious choice for the twist, but I still loved it. Each team had setup a pretty good offense and defense, and I enjoyed the bad guys taken down bad guys. It was also great to have Harley join in the action, I was a bit nervous if they'd keep her out too long.

Can't wait to see what happens next!

3.5 Stars

The Suicide Squad is back in the field after barely recovering from their last mission. Their boss, Amanda Waller, has forced them back into action too quickly for their liking. This time, though, we’ll learn what has been hinted at from the start: Someone on the Squad is a traitor–working for Basilisk. Will the team be able to stop Basilisk from rising? Who will survive?

What I didn’t like.

The ending of the last comic was left unresolved.
This is very irritating, honestly. Like, why have that ending if you’re not even going to elaborate on that started storyline even a little bit? I wanted more of it, and didn’t get any. Maybe in the next volume?

The storyline stayed very static. The second volume was basically the first volume with a different topic. We still are given too little information for what’s going on. I know that vagueness is important for a story to move forward with tension, but there was too much vagueness in this volume. I need to know more because right now I’m just very confused.

Basilisk looks like Loki on steroids.

Basilisk is basically Hydra.

Boobs are still unnecessarily large and impractically uncovered.

What I liked.

The story was
, once again, fun to read. I did enjoy what was happening, even if it felt a bit unoriginal. I found what was happening interesting, even if some of it was hard to follow.

I enjoyed the background on Amanda Waller and how Suicide Squad came about. So, at least there were some answers found in this comic. Even if they weren’t the particular answers I’ve been after, they were still interesting, none the less, and did a good job of moving the comic forward.

The characters stayed about the same. They were, like the plot, pretty stagnant, but they were appealing. I was, once again, hoping for them to succeed despite them all being terrible human beings (or terrible sharks, I guess). I liked the development of Waller. This comic made her more real and not just a voice running an operation.

The artwork was, once again, pretty and vibrantly colorful.

The verdict? I do recommend this one if you’ve found yourself invested in the series.
It’s fun. It’s interesting. It’s gory. But, like the first, don’t get your hopes too high.

Vol.1 was awesome, sadly vol. 2 was a complete let down. I'm not sure I'll bother with vol.3 now. Disappointing.
