Theodora and Chad's story is about friendship, identity, and self-confidence. The evolution of their friendship is honest and will resonate with young children.

Theodora could not relate to a single thing he said. But she knew one thing was certain... She and Chad would NOT be friends.

This is one of the cutest kids graphic novel/picture books I have read in 2018. It is for ages 4-8 but I enjoyed it at 25 just the same. The artwork is well done and the storyline is quite adorable.

We follow the sassy albeit odd duck named Theodora, who is seriously set in her ways. She does the same thing every single morning without change, except in the winter. She does daily exercises, goes swimming with a teapot on her head, goes to the grocery store and picks up mango salsa, goes to the fabric store, and also the library to pick up one or a few books.

The theme of this story is quite simple but important for kids, don't judge anyone by how they act or look. We all are our own people. There also was a subtle theme about challenging your judgments about what good and bad is.

Odd Duck is completely appropriate and without profanity or bad themes for kids.

I am so glad I picked it up from the library.

Theodora and Chad find that the odd friends are the best ones. Loved the illustrations and the little asides of text.

Being from First Second I was thinking this was going to be a graphic novel - but really it's a traditional picture book. But surprisingly good. I liked the text and the art was fine and the story was good. I think this would work just fine reading to children.

Such a sweet, weird story of two odd ducks who become friends but then struggle with being odd together. But my two kids never warmed to this book as I did. Perhaps a children's book that works better for adults than for kids? Or maybe my kids are just cold hearted. Because this is really lovely.

Adorable and makes me want to knit though there are no knitting scenes in the book. They have really cute mittens, socks, etc. review forthcoming.

Very good picture book, but it will appeal to a 7-9 year old because of its similarity to a graphic novel.
Great story for talking about differences and how it's important to be yourself.
