She wrote this when she was 14. That still amazes me, even now. She is so witty and satirical when it comes to love. Great read!

This little novella is an absolute scream from start to finish. I LOVE IT. Jane Austen is at her best when she is satirizing things, and nowhere does she do it better than in her hilarious parody of the sentimental novel.

A sweet little story, obviously written at a young age, Love and Friendship is a book that, if written in modern language, would be dismissed by any editor as juvenile. The fainting fits of Laura and Sophia, their conviction that all they do is justified and good and right... you can tell they're teenagers.
