Davies is not just an actor and a comedian but a truly accomplished author, as proven in Just Ignore Him. It is clear that Davies wanted to not only portray his life story, but to do so artfully and with the full emotive spectrum. This book was painful at times, capturing the true raw emotions of shame, anger, grief and betrayal. The subject matter is dark but the strength is blinding.

I can't describe this book as an enjoyable read but it was a powerful one. Alan Davies is a brilliant writer and I finished this in less than a day. I'd like to listen to the audiobook at some point as well

I wasn’t sure what to expect but Davies is an excellent writer. He writes with great detail and beauty. I found sometimes it jumped around quite a lot so it made it difficult to follow the timeline but that did not affect the overall message. A brave and raw book.

Absolutely heartbreaking. Listening to Alan narrate this himself was so devastating that I had to listen to the whole 8.5 hours in one sitting. This book felt a lot like some form of self-therapy and there are many questions posed throughout the book for which he has no answer. This is definitely a book which will stick with me for a while.

A heartbreaking memoir on reconciling with traumatic and abusive past, but beautifully written that it made me teared up a couple of times. I had to pause reading this book for a lot of times because of the book's heavy themes that somehow resonate with my relationship with my grandmother. Not gonna lie, this perhaps is one of my favourite memoirs that I've written. I love Alan Davies— can't wait to read more of his future works!

Incredibly powerful with beautiful imagery and eloquence. The way Davies is able to inject his recognisable brand of humour into the darkest reflections while also packing a punch in amazing. I cried in many places and yet felt uplifted by the end. From a personal standpoint, it also felt incredibly validating. Privileged to have read this.
