[b:A Promise of Fire|27015399|A Promise of Fire (Kingmaker Chronicles, #1)|Amanda Bouchet|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1470238554s/27015399.jpg|47064525] was one of my favorite books in 2016 and I was so excited to read the sequel. Sadly, Breath of Fire fell short, compared to it's predecessor.

What did I think?
+ Strong kick-ass heroine. (You go girl)
- But on the other hand, in every mission no matter how much Cat tries, in the end always the Gods save the day. I would have liked to see her do it by herself for once.
+ Sizzling passionate love story.
--- Maybe too passionate? They have sex all the time, even in the most inappropriate moments. I know Breath of Fire is fantasy romance genre, but they had sex so much, it can easily be filmed as porno movie.

Breath of Fire was not bad, but it didn't live up to my memories of [b:A Promise of Fire|27015399|A Promise of Fire (Kingmaker Chronicles, #1)|Amanda Bouchet|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1470238554s/27015399.jpg|47064525]. Too many near-death experiences and sex scenes, made it seem like a cheap fun, not like anything with deeper meaning or content. Maybe I was just not in a mood for 'fast food' novel?

I don't even know why I do this to myself.I liked the first book but I couldn't even bear going through this.I really had high hopes for this one.

It's fun,I guess. But a bit of lot of drama for me.

The sequel to Amanda Bouchet's amazing fantasy book, A Promise of Fire. This satisfying follow-up offers more romance, spice and adventure to keep you coming back for more. While I enjoyed the romance between Cat & Griffin, the side characters are what make you want to stay around. When I heard that there was going to be a fourth one featuring Jo and Flynn I was excited as these characters are so good and I can't wait to read their story in the future.
This one features mystery, adventure, romance, danger and much much more. It will appeal to fans of NA fantasy and romance. The world building is unique and offers something different to the usual fantasy fairy worlds so popular at the moment. Fans of Sarah J Mass or Jennifer L Armentrout will love this series.
