Actually a shame that this would be 5 stars only if the difference between a character's thoughts and the dialogue they say out loud wasn't the different between a quotation mark and a speech mark, because i cannot understand what's happening quickly enough for the writing to flow like it should.

So, yeah, it would benefit from some italics or at least some line breaks, but if they allowed half stars on goodreads then it would still be 4.5

It’s been a long time since I read a book so profound I purposely took my time absorbing every single word. There is so much symbolism, and beautiful prose, it doesn’t do the book justice to simply say “this was remarkable”, though it certainly is. 

Needless to say this touched my soul, deeply. Especially as an individual who has severe religious trauma. Wow. I will be pondering this book for years to come.
