Finally getting back into this series after 12 months. Loved Doc and Lily's story, it was a refreshing take on the 'enermies to lovers' 'forced proximity' trope.

Emotional. Raw. Painful.
Doc experienced heartache like no other early on. It changed the course of his life. When he is taken come nightfall, his world changes once again.
The man kidnapped is someone Lily knows she should hate. She can't. She can't hate him. She's trapped, just like Doc is. Working together is the only thing that will save them.
Its practically instant. The connection. They come together and they blossom.
It's passionate, gritty, and sexy.
But when their only option is one Doc doesn't agree with, he's left picking up the pieces he left behind. They are consumed with each other and doing what's best for the other. They have this fight deep within to not let the enemy win.
Their story kept me from the beginning and seeing how they navigated through all their struggles to come out in the end was worth it. Doc found his queen and you never mess with a King's queen.

I have always been excited to read about Doc's story and it didn't disappoint...He is how he is,because of a completely devastating experience in his early life, and nothing and no one can get through his hard shell of an exterior. An abduction brings him into the path of Lily, and the attraction was quick, something that shocked him to the core. Lily was the daughter of a feared rival club President and she hated being back under duress, but the minute she came into contact with Doc,she was wary, she didn't want to like him, didn't want to trust him,but they both soon came to the conclusion that they needed to stick together in order to survive...but it definitely didn't come easy! Doc's iced up heart began to thaw against Lily day by day,and it was so lovely to see the development of their relationship. Of course it was epic that we get to see the other brothers from the Kings of Mayhem MC,and I can't wait to see who's next!

This is the second book in the series and I actually enjoyed this one more than its predecessor. This focuses on Doc and here we get to discover his tragic past and what has made him into the person he is today. When Doc is kidnapped by the Appalachian Infernos the clubs biggest rival for the use of his medical expertise he encounters Tiger Lily the daughter of their leader. Initially suspicious of her motives and if she might even be playing him Doc is determined to keep her at arm's length. But It’s not long before he realises she’s just as much of a prisoner as he is and despite their short time together the two form an intense connection. But with Docs life in imminent danger, Lily makes a sacrifice and a choice that will save him but ultimately leave her left behind and still in the clutches of her corrupt father.

The infernos are not big on family values when Lily’s mother died her father derailed and became corrupted by power and greed now his group is run like a cult. Lily escaped once but now her father is determined that she take her place back within the family fold. But when she betrays him allowing Doc to escape it’s Lily that now has to pay the ultimate price.

This was a great read and an easy page turner it’s dual POV and I loved the developed dynamic that Lily and Doc came to share. I loved how willing he was to shelter and go to bat for her even against his own club he totally had her back even with his slight doubts regarding her true motivations and when Lily lays everything bare there’s no question of his support he’s all in. I also appreciated that Doc wasn’t a player and knew how to keep It in his pants unusual for an MC man. I really enjoyed this one and definitely recommend it if you like this genre.

Due to tragedies in his past Doc has been leading a straight edge life, no booze, no drugs and no women. He has his club, his brothers and his illegal medical practice. That is all needs. When he finds himself kidnapped by a rival club to help them with some medical issues, he knows that he may not make it out alive even if he does everything his kidnapper asks of him. But when Lily is kidnapped as well to assist Doc things get a bit more complicated.

I loved Doc and Lily's story. It was rough and there are triggers that happen off page but are discussed so this may not be the story for everyone. it was rough for me but I still loved it. These two were both beat down by life but managed to make a life worth living until the rival club kidnapped them both. But they found salvation, sanctuary and forever with each other. I really loved this story.

I was gripped from the prologue!! It helps us understand why Doc is the way he is, which is essential to know when he meets Lily.

Meeting Lily the way he does, he can’t help but put his guard up even higher than usual as the pull he feels towards Lily is unlike anything he’s felt in a long time. Max Stonecypher has plans for Doc and there is only 2 ways out of this…join him or death. Will he learn to trust Lily in order to find a 3rd option?

Lily is forced into the same situation as Doc but he refuses to believe her. She wants nothing to do with her father and the club but her father believes she belongs to him and the club. Nothing more than property, she has no way out. Can she find a way to get Doc to trust her? Can they work together to form a plan of escape?
