This book started a six month obsession with Louise Penny and all of the Chief Inspector Gamache novels. I absolutely loved this book and every subsequent novel. Louise Penny's writing is exceptional.

What an awesome writer. Full of insight to the human condition.

11/29/18 - I read this book again after reading the entire series and am amazed at how Louise Penny set the Gamache books into motion starting at the beginning and the threads she continued to weave throughout the series.

I hope I never have a still life.

I want to live in Three Pines. Not for the murder, great twists and turns, but for the characters and description of the village. Took me away to a quaint Canadian village with interesting characters and trying to figure out "who done it".
