I forgot just how annoying Rick and Joe are. It’s funny Joe was so self righteous in this book bc in the previous book he was behaving exactly like Rick.

Didn’t enjoy this one as much as the first, but it was still a good nostalgic read.

I loved reading this series with my Mum when I was little, now enjoying reading it with my son. Brilliant story telling.

What can I say. This book is the reason I read. When I was 5 or 6 my nan sat down with me one afternoon and started to read this story. I feel in love immediately. In fact it became a ritual for my nan and I to read every afternoon until we finished the book. I looked forward to it every afternoon. If you want to get a kid to read, this is definitely the book. It will always be in my heart and someday I wish to read the story to my kids and possibly grand kids and take them to a truly magical world.

I can see how this would be good if you are reading a little each night to naive little - VERY little - kids, but really it's so redundant and with all the possibilities, it was just too sweetsy and cutesy. Bleh. Didn't hate it, but ugh! Please-please, never again!

Another delightful, imaginative story. Violet (age 5) says, “My favorite part was when they got all the presents for their mom and dad.”
