This book has it all...murder, mystery, romance and sex! It was hard for me to put this book down. I loved Beatrice. She was smart, opinionated and kind. I look forward to reading more about this family of duke's.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this ARC.

Wow! What a way to start a series! Project Duchess is the first book in the Duke Dynasty series and has set the bar very high! The Duke of “Grey” Greycourt’s mother has married three dukes and has had children with each. The family connections were a little confusing, but the author put a family tree in the front of book that made it very easy to figure out. Grey is the oldest child of the family and when his stepfather dies, he returns to his family. He has distanced himself from his family because he was hurt when his mother and stepfather sent him to England with his uncle when he was a child. The time he spent in his aunt and uncles house were not the happiest and he didn’t understand why his family had sent him to live with his uncle. His youngest brother, the Duke of Armitage, suspects that his father was murdered and ask Grey to stay and help him investigate. Beatrice Wolf is the Duke of Armitage’s cousin and is helping organize the funeral. Both dukes suspect Beatrice and her brother Joshua of murder. Beatrice is sassy, bold and an independent woman and is not afraid to say what she thinks of Grey. The Duchess of Armitage is helping Beatrice to prepare for a London Season and Grey gets “recruited” to help with the duchess’s “project.” As Grey and Beatrice spend more time together, they realize that they have a lot of things in common. Will Grey be able to prove Beatrice and Joshua’s innocence? Was Grey’s stepfather murdered? The suspense of the story made it so hard to stop reading in the middle of the book. There was so much drama, family bantering, wit, suspense and romance in the book it kept my attention throughout. The book leads the reader into the next book in the series and I can’t wait to read it! I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I loved the family dynamic in this book.
Grey and Beatrice were such adorable characters and their love story was the sweetest.

Nice historical romance.

Dukes! yes there is nothing like a Duke in a book, and omg, this book has 3! All with the same mother. WHaat? No way! Yes way.

First, I need her story. Her first marriage, her second, her third happy one and I sort of want her to marry a 4th Duke one day.

Right, but this is about her firstborn, Greycourt. A rocky relationship since he was sent back to England when he was 10 (not her fault.) He has some hidden anger issues, he is known asa rake, aren't they all! But he is a really sweet guy.

Beatrice had a bad time too after her parents died and she had to live with her asshat uncle.

And how did her uncle die? And how did his brother die just months after?
Gotta find out.

They flirt, they should be together, oh uh, did someone murder anyone? And they lived happily ever after

This has a murder mystery element, we have Lady Lydia and all her children, 5 by 3 different dukes, so 3 of her sons are now Dukes because her most recent husband just passed away.
Grey comes to Armitage Hall for his stepfathers funeral only to have his half brother(Sheridan) confide in him that he believes his father was murdered and possibly his uncle Armie as well.
This is one complicated family, Sheridan's cousins on his fathers side Beatrice and Joshua, live in the dower house on the estate with Joshua as the games keeper and Beatrice helping train the dogs as well as helping at the main house.
Bea is the first person Grey runs into when he arrives and they immediately clash because she won't put up with his high handedness, and he likes provoking the sass out of her.
This was fun, looking forward to the rest of the family's stories.
TW: trauma in both MC's backgrounds

This is my sixth read from Jefferies. She is always good for a happily ever after and an interesting story.

This was a fantastic historical romance. It was my first time reading a book by this author and it definitely won’t be my last. I was so absolutely enthralled by the story and it was the kind of story that stays with you for a while. Grey and Beatrice were both so no nonsense with each other that it was no wonder that they fell for each other because I fell for them too. The love story was beautiful and then throw the whole murder mystery into the mix top and then you’ve got an amazing story on your hand.

Interesting and unconventional past and secrets. Enjoyable if more raunchy then I'd like.

A very interesting concept of a family of brothers that are Dukes. A little far fetched that one woman would marry that many Dukes, but if you set that aside it's definitely a new spin on the genre.
We follow the eldest Duke in this story in which he must assuredly is not looking for a wife. He comes to console his mother after the death of her most recent husband. And the mystery surrounding the recent deaths still remains unsolved.
